Advantages and Disadvantages of Television

A television is a means to get more information in our everyday lives. We can get news, knowledge, entertainment and more benefits. However, there are also some flaws if we use television in a bad way.
There are four main advantages to using television. Firstly, television gives us more knowledge and languages. It makes us learn knowledge around which we can adopt to use in our everyday lives. Secondly, television allows us to be aware of news updates that can protect us from danger and calamities. Then television gives us entertainment. It makes us happy and it is our friend when we feel lonely. Finally, television provides us some activities. For example, during a holiday or weekend, watching television is a good activity for our family. It makes all members of our family watch a show together, converse with each other and develop intimate relationships among them.
On the other hand, there are also disadvantages to it. First, watching television for a long time affects our health. Second, some programs may have images and stories that are not appropriate for the general viewers. They make children get confused if that thing is good or bad. Third, television wastes our time rather than let us use all our time to do more important activities such as doing homework, reading books and doing house works. Lastly, television wastes energy by leaving them on for a long time.
In conclusion, a television has advantages and disadvantages but it depends on the users if they use it in a good or bad way. I believe that despite the disadvantages, a television is essential to provide us more information about life and that is all that matters.
